WE-Heraeus Summer School on Nuclear Astrophysics in the Cosmos

The WE-Heraeus Summer School on Nuclear Astrophysics in the Cosmos is intended for preparing graduate students and young researchers for attending Nuclei in the Cosmos (NIC XI), the most important international meeting in the research field of nuclear astrophysics. The meeting will be held right after the school in Heidelberg.

The NIC school will take place at the GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung GmbH (GSI) and the Neuenheimer Feld campus of the University of Heidelberg during 12-17 July 2010. It is funded by the Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation.

The lectures, presented by internationally renowned experts, will cover a broad area of research in nuclear astrophysics, from theoretical modelling to experiments and astronomical observations.

The number of participants will be limited to 45. All local costs (i.e., meals and accommodation) of the accepted participants will be covered by the school budget. The deadline for submission of applications was
