Available isotopes for Rhenium (Z=75)
Recommended MACS30 (Maxwellian Averaged Cross Section @ 30keV)
186Re 187Re
Cross sections do not include stellar enhancement factors! History
(Version 0.0 corresponds to Bao et al.) Comment
Recommended value is from SUM05. This value was divided for this datasheet by the stellar enhancement factor (SEF) of Rau09 to receive a laboratory MACS. The data is from a photoactivation measurement (187Re(gamma,n)186Re) where the (n,gamma) cross section was deduced by Hauser-Feshbach theory with varying input parameters (level density, gamma strength, optical model potential). The uncertainty is the experimental uncertainty plus the deviation between the predictions (only inputs 2 and 3 from SMU05 were considered since they fit the data best). The MACS vs. kT table is the the average of the predictions of SUM05. Note that the published value is already a stellar MACS.

Original:MACS [<σ v>/vT] (mb) for kT=30 keV, based on the published cross sections except where indicated otherwise. Renorm:MACS [<σ v>/vT] (mb) for kT=30 keV for which the reference or standard cross section was meanwhile improved. Type: The letters and numbers in the column labelled 'type' give information on how the cross section has been obtained:
